Tuesday Night Lent Series
A Place at the
Table: 40 Days of Solidarity with the Poor.
Tuesday evenings, February 28-April 03 from 7:00-8:30PM
Join Mark and Regina Hopewell on a Lenten journey that
walks alongside the world’s poor in this 6-week Tuesday evening
class. We’ll participate in a 40-day “fast” in which we will eat
as the world’s poor eat. We’ll also reflect upon Scriptures that
help us discover God’s heart of compassion for the vulnerable,
learn about and pray for those living in poverty, and encourage
one another on our collective journeys with Christ to be more
like Him.
The class will utilize the book A Place at the Table and
DVD series and small group resources by Chris Seay. An optional
activity will be for group members to donate money saved on
groceries to a charity that serves the poor. The group will be
encouraged to eat a simple diet mostly comprised of rice, beans,
vegetables, and fruit for 40 days.
Purchase of the book A Place at the Table and reading the
first four chapters before the first class is strongly
encouraged. Entire families are invited to embark upon this
journey – resources and ideas will be provided to help your
children discover how they can pray for and learn compassion for
and faith lessons from the world’s poor. Contact Regina Hopewell
at Regina for questions
and to express your interest in participating.
Writing Prayers of the
People
Tuesday evenings, February 28-April 03 from 7:00-8:30PM
Ever wonder where those
prayers come from? They could come from you. Join us for six
weeks, through the season of Lent, to give thought and space to
writing our own prayers and forming them for use in
IAC's worship. We will consider the different seasons of the
church calendar, as well as various forms that the prayers can
take, and of course we’ll set aside plenty of time for writing.
Please email
Erica
if you are interesting in attending.
Walking with the Wounded
March 6 - March 27, 7:00 – 8:30 (four week class)
How do we care for those in
need? This four week
class will look at how the Church can offer hope and healing to
the wounded – those stuck in cycles of poverty, addiction,
mental illness, and abuse.
Discussions will focus on the needs and resources
specific to our community, the Church’s unique role in
addressing those needs, and an exploration of the pathways
within our community to serve those in need.
The class is coordinated by Fostering Hope and will
include speakers from local agencies, volunteers from Fostering
Hope teams, and foster parents.
Please contact
Mike
Myers with any questions.
Preparing for Lent -- Baptism Class
Are you curious about baptism? Maybe you're a new believer or
perhaps you've been a Christian for years, but haven't been
baptized. Or, do you wonder why we baptize infants? Perhaps
you're even considering baptizing your children.
Historically, Lent has been a time of preparation in the Church
for those considering baptism. This journey of preparation
culminates when we celebrate the joyous resurrection of Christ
and baptize people on Easter Sunday. In anticipation of Easter,
IAC is hosting a 4 week class on baptism. Rev. Joel Pinson and
Rev. Delrece Moore will team teach this discussion-based class
and it will meet before church from
8:30-9:30 a.m. The class begins on
Sunday, March 11th, so if
you're interested in attending, please email Joel at:

meet on March 06, from 7-9PM, here in the sanctuary.
Come and join in beholding Jesus' face and eyes in a time of

aspect of who He is to us. This first month we will look upon
the face of Jesus as Redeemer.
Regular Schedule: Beginning in April
When: 2nd
Tuesday of each month, 7-9pm
Where: SDA Sanctuary
What: Beholding the Face of Jesus
"For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness, made his
light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge
of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ."
Catechism Class
Join us as we memorize the basics of the Christian Faith.
9:10-9:40 2nd & 4th Sunday of each
month.
All ages welcome.
Confession
"Therefore confess your sins to
each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed..."
James 5:16 Confession might sound intimidating to many of us,
but it's actually intended to be restorative, redemptive and
relieving. By confessing our sins, we allow the light of Christ
to saturate those hidden areas of our hearts. And we find that
Jesus dispels the darkness to offers us greater freedom and joy
in our spiritual lives. In that regard, confession isn't about
shame or guilt - it's about deeper healing and reconciliation
within our relationships. It's about laying our burdens down at
the foot of the Cross of Christ and moving forward towards
Kingdom life. During the Lenten Season (February 22 - April 7),
we will be taking confessions. Feel free to contact any member
of our clergy ((Rev. Ken Ross,
Rev. Gerrit Wolfaardt,
Rev. Joel Pinson or
Rev. Delrece Moore)
to set up an appointment.
